Driving Assistance Technology - Vision

Objective:

The objective of this one-day training module is to provide the technician with an understanding of the new technologies now being utilised in vehicle lighting and Driving Assistance Technology. Systems utilising Xenon technology, LED units, Park Assist, Lane Departure Warning and night vision systems require specific knowledge to service, diagnose and repair.

  • A brief history of lighting systems
  • Issues with Quartz Halogen bulb systems
  • Parabolic verses elliptical and complex surface reflectors
  • Legal requirements with respect to HID (High Intensity Discharge) Xenon systems
    Manual levelling
    Self levelling

  • Serial Port Diagnostics for vision systems
  • Diagnostic equipment, information sources and requirements
